The Elite Companies serviced include Elite Landscape Construction, EMTS, Elite Private Landscape, Stockbridge General Contracting, Live Action General Engineering, SRVC, Lokes Rental Equipment, and Stock Five Holdings. We're currently looking for an Elite HSE Technician I for our Safety Department, to join our amazing team in Clovis, CA.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
The HSE Technician I is a key position in establishing a safety culture by auditing the processes for the Elite Companies. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the Elite Company’s safety programs. Their primary duty is to ensure that the company is in compliance and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience and understanding of: Federal and CA state laws and regulations, Unions and Cal/OSHA regulations and requirements
- A positive attitude when faced with challenges
- Ability to interface with all levels of personnel
- Gather and compile data, and prepare reports
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Certificate of Completion for: OSHA 10 or 30 and First Aid / CPR
- Strong verbal, written and persuasive skills to motivate teams; work effectively with diverse groups
- Excellent interpersonal skills and public speaking skills.
- Valid Driver’s License; will travel 60 – 75% of the time (between central valley and central coast), to jobsites and project locations, as required
- Maintain good records of all safety related activities
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school or equivalent (Preferred), a minimum of two years’ experience within in a Health and Safety role, two years’ experience in the construction industry.

- Extensive automobile travel required

- Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
- Frequently operate machinery; only when/if trained and certified according to OSHA and safety standards
- Use hands/fingers and legs to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position materials
- Specific vision abilities required; including close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Outdoor work in all types of weather conditions and exposure to the elements; including heavy to moderate noise and extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, electrical energy, and tools and machines regularly used in construction

- Safety
- Perform monitoring and inspections for ongoing projects to verify safety compliance. This includes completing and submitting Inspection Report Forms and providing Photo Logs within one (1) day of each site inspection.

- Job observations
- Assist with incident and near miss investigations.
- Monitor and ensure a safe and healthy working environment at job sites
- Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field
- Complete:
- Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBSO)
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Job Safety Analysis’ (JSA)
- Attend and participate in daily Tailgate Safety meetings
- Counsel and assist management with safety related prevention and/or concerns
- May be assigned other duties as required
- Training and Development
- Ensure tailgates and other relevant communications pertaining to all Elite companies are delivered, tracked and documented
- Work with Safety Manager and field teams to develop and implement solutions for safety related issues on project sites
- Workers Compensation (WC)
- Work with the Safety Manager:
- On the return to work program
- To ensure compliance with Elite Team Offices’ worker’s compensation program, including working with internal personnel and third party administrators/legal counsel
- Research and collect forms for WC injuries
- Incident/accident reports
- DWC1
- Work status notes
- Provide both, written and verbal Spanish translation services
- Work with the Safety Manager:
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, EPA, etc.)
