Position Summary:

Perform comprehensive bio/psych/social (BPS) assessment and develop and conduct individualized treatment plans. Counsel individuals with (SUD) substance dependency in group, individual and educational sessions. Coordinate with community agencies and other professionals as required for case management.

Essential Duties:

• Develop, implement and periodically review the clients’ Individual Treatment Plan.
• Perform assessment, clinical evaluation and comprehensive BPS assessment and develop and conduct individualized treatment plans.
• Participate in facilitating ancillary services, i.e. family support groups, family education groups, continuing care and networking with community agencies.
• Maintain individual client treatment files in accordance with agency policies and procedures and other regulations.
• Learn and implement Electronic Medical Software (AVATAR) to perform essential job functions which includes but is not limited to thoroughly documenting and entering client related information and documents into the AVATAR system in a timely manner.
• Provide general client supervision including planning and scheduling therapeutic activities.
• Prepare client progress reports, when necessary.
• Regularly request and monitors client drug tests.
• Interact with the Criminal Justice System and/or referral sources, when necessary.
• Initiate/develop a discharge plan.
• Alert Program Manager to potential crises or urgent situations and/or incidents.
• Meet with Clinical Supervisor for clinical supervision. Brings issues of concern and/or importance to Program Manager for consultation.
• Maintain a professional work environment with attention to client and staff health and safety, by maintaining safety protocols, alerting management to unsafe conditions, etc.
• Read and follow procedures as detailed in Janus’ policy manuals and program policies and procedures.
• Attend all required training and administrative meetings.
• Maintain professional licenses/certificates.
• Driving is required in order to attend required training, meetings or to fulfill other responsibilities defined in this role.

Qualifications:

• Minimum two (1) year paid experience of providing direct (SUD) substance abuse counseling services in an intensive setting under supervision
• Current Certification ( CAADE, CCAPP) in drug and alcohol counseling or registration in a State of California approved certifying organization is required or BBS certification/ licensed required.
• Pass criminal background investigation
• Janus provides clinical supervision towards certification (CADC, RADT, LCSW, MFT)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
