JOB SUMMARY:

This is a Research and Training Specialist position in the Training and Professional Development (TPD) process within the Office of Workforce Management at the Florida Department of Revenue. TPD supports department-wide strategies to develop a productive workforce through training and communication in cost-effective ways. This position is one of two Training and Research Specialists for enterprise-wide training and serves as the Media Resource Library administrator. Duties of the position include:

  • Develop, follow and update project plans
  • Coordinate training delivery including registration, logistics, equipment and training materials
  • Deliver training through classroom instruction, web conference services and online courses
  • Facilitate the delivery of agency-wide training through live presentations
  • Develop training using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and Articulate 3 or 360
  • Conduct regular reviews to update and maintain current department-wide training to ensure current, accurate and applicable content that aligns with agency strategic goals
  • Develop and evaluate training content and materials
  • Assess employee learning needs, identify gaps, improve efficiencies and improve best practices
  • Research and evaluate new methods and techniques of training in support of department-wide strategic goals and employee career development
  • Develop and maintain expertise in instructional design, Articulate and educational principles and perform special projects and other related duties as necessary

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, English, communications or related field.
  • One year of experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • One year of experience in writing and/or editing in a professional environment, or one year of experience developing, updating and revising training materials.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • Experience in developing workplace learning or workplace communication can substitute on a year-for-year basis for education.

PREFERENCES:

  • One year of experience in adult education.
  • One year of experience administering or assisting with administration of a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • One year of experience in using Articulate 3 or 360.

SPECIAL NOTES:

  • This position works in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. The selected candidate will be expected to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in this environment.
  • This is a full-time position headquartered at 2450 Shumard Oak Blvd., Tallahassee, FL.
  • The workstation will be in an open area where there are interruptions throughout the day. The selected candidate will be expected to handle these interruptions and maintain normal job responsibilities.

SALARY: $40,739.88 - $45,000.00
