Founded by Liberty Mutual, a global insurance company based in the US, Solaria Labs has successfully launched new products for more than 6 years across our US, Singapore, and Brazil operations. We are looking for intrapreneurs who want to change how the industry approaches new product development, driving test-and learn approaches in the world of risk management to grow Liberty Mutual’s Asia business.

The Regional Consumer Research Manager will drive Solaria’s broader strategy in understanding customer needs and developing insights which will support the business with improving its existing product portfolio and developing new products. You will be expected to ask thoughtful research questions, conduct contextual research, frame problems, synthesize insights, evaluate concepts and prototypes, and assist with launches and releases. He/she will also build relationships with leaders across Liberty to help redefine our product-development methodology, ingraining a customer-first mindset in developing new insurance products and experiences.

Responsibilities

• Drive our research into various emerging trends that are disrupting insurance to identify unmet and changing consumer needs, prioritizing the spaces where future ventures are built.
• Develop new concepts, identify critical assumptions, and design the testing strategy and metrics in collaboration with the Lab team.
• Run the testing and validation of new products including creating materials, running interviews and focus groups, building digital communities, and managing external research vendors across the region.
• Drive Design Thinking and Innovation Methodologies across the region in partnership with country operations.
• Partner with the Solaria teams in the United States and Brazil to leverage their insights, resources, and best practices.

Requirements

• Passion for learning about people, storytelling, and creating new things
• Team player who is transparent, ethical, and learns from failure
• Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of self-starting, self-organizing and creatively overcoming obstacles
• Experience with customer-centric market research (e.g. Human-Centered Design) including ethnographies, home visits, focus groups and digital communities
• Knowledge of quantitative research techniques including survey design, segmentation and data analytics
• Demonstrated ability to highlight key insights from consumer research and digital reports, identify unmet needs, and brainstorm new solutions
• Experience working with market research vendors at a regional level
• Great communication skills; able to depict complex ideas and issues to varied audiences; educate senior leaders on business vision and plan and the impact of change
