Reasons Eating Disorder Center (Reasons) is seeking candidate professionals, preferably with previous experience working with LGBT+ communitieike, to provide compassionate care to both adult and adolescent patients in our Reasons Inpatient eating disorder program at BHC Alhambra Hospital.
BHC Alhambra Hospital is located in the beautiful city of Rosemead, California. Our 115 bed facility established in 1924 prides itself on upholding a standard of excellence that allows our patients to take the first step to recovery. BHC Alhambra Hospital is a private, fully accredited, full-service acute psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents and adults. BHC Alhambra is dedicated to providing quality behavioral health, substance abuse, and eating disorder treatment. We offer inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the communities of the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, and surrounding areas.
Job Description: The Program Therapist performs functions to include assisting both adult and adolescent patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/ families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and Conduct educational, therapeutic, and/or support groups for adults and adolescents.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, health care team members and community providers regarding patient status and progress.
- Interact and communicate with patients, families, outpatient providers, community agencies in assessment of and service to patients.
- Provide Liaison and referral services to community agencies and appear in court when requested or subpoenaed.
- Maintain confidentiality in compliance with professional ethics according to professional and facility standards.
Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university, in Psychology, Marriage/Family Therapy, Social Work or a clinical related mental health field, preferred.
Experience: Program Therapist requires a minimum of two (2) years experience, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills, preferred; strong clinical assessment skills, preferred. For a specialty program (for example, Eating Disorders) experience be with that population is preferred. In lieu of experience specialized education and training may be acceptable.
License: Program Therapist must be masters prepared or higher, license is not required.
Additional Requirements: May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
