PPG is looking to fill a Resin Quality Engineer role to be based in our Springdale, PA facility (This role can be based in any Resin facility within PPG with up to 25% travel to other PPG facilities). Reporting to the Resin Manager, you will coordinate and support the resin plant QA Labs to standardize best practices, meet the customer plant requirements and ensure harmonization within the QA Labs in the USCA resin plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily and long-term activities of all Customer and intra-affiliate CAIRs. Support corrective actions and customer and sister plant responses (RCA and 8D) and leads the best practice sharing of preventative actions with all plants.

• Work with Quality Managers at Circleville, Cleveland Ecoat, Delaware, High Point, Oak Creek Resin and Springdale DC and the process engineers at those sites to incorporate corrective and preventative actions from non-conformances into Quality Management System (PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Maps and work instructions).

• Define the Resin quality best practices for lab operations to ensure resin testing is performed precisely through GR&R, lab evaluations etc.

• Support PAT through defining the opportunities for in-line and offline testing and working with local teams in data collection and analysis. Lead improvement projects such as crater prevention and readiness audits at the 6 sites.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other physical science required.

• 3+ years’ experience in chemical industry

• Preferred to have Six Sigma training and certification (Green Belt minimal).

• Experience in paint or resin manufacturing.
