Position Description

The Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for Psychiatric Caseworker II positions within the Child and Adolescent Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) in Reno.

This position’s primary duties will be to serve as a consultant and educator of services to the Clark County and Washoe County School Districts. This position requires a thorough understanding of clinical and community services in Nevada. Incumbents will be responsible for developing and delivering training and outreach to community partners, providing consultation to school personnel, and maintaining relationships with community partners. Incumbents will be attending school/community-based meetings and presenting to professionals from multidisciplinary teams.

The candidate must be well-organized and able to multitask, prioritize and meet demands for multiple sources and maintain appropriate communication with supervisor and mental health counselor consultation partner.

Incumbents may be responsible for completing assessments and providing care coordination services as driven by the needs of the community and availability of the MCRT team.

This is a full-time position that will be located in Reno, Nevada.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.

  • A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

  • Working overtime on short notice, weekends and/or holidays is required.
