HintonBurdick CPAs and Advisors, a leading regional certified public accounting firm, is seeking a Manager - Professional Staff Accountant for all stages of tax and audit preparation in our St. George, UT, Cedar City, UT, Richfield, UT, Mesquite, NV, or Gilbert, AZ office. This position provides opportunities for advancement and promotion throughout your professional career. An ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a professional staff and strong working knowledge of complex and multi-state tax scenarios. The right candidate will provide firm-wide training on best practices and internal technical education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize tax software to prepare returns
• Research and consult on various tax matters
• Strong technical knowledge and experience
• Consult and collaborate with clients and Partner-in-Charge
• Oversee specific client billings
• Train and educate junior staff and interns
• Provide timely, accurate, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
• Prepare tax returns for more complex individual, trust, partnership, and corporate clients
• Perform bookkeeping services which may include recording transactions in ledgers, preparing trial balances and financial statements using computer software programs. Reconcile accounts, prepare schedule of accruals, property and equipment, and calculate depreciation expense, etc
• Perform compilation, review, and audit procedures as assigned
• Draft reports including routine footnotes

Requirements

• CPA license
• Previous tax season experience

Preferences

• Previous mentorship experience a plus
• Experience with Thomson Reuters programs a plus
• Strong critical thinking and analysis skills
• Proactive and collaborative with Partners and staff
