Department: OPERATIONAL SERVICES
JOB TITLE: Food Service Professional
(Level 06; 180 days Employment Contract)
REQUIREMENTS:
A. Education Level: High School diploma or its equivalent with sufficient training in
food service preparation
B. Experience Desired: Prior experience preparing and serving food within a cafeteria
or large setting with knowledge of basic mathematical functions
to collect money and accurately make change. Must have the
ability to operate various pieces of food equipment and to
understand and execute oral and written directions. Must also
be able to establish and maintain a cooperative working
relationship with others.
C. Physical requirements: Good physical health including ability to lift 50 pounds,
reaching/handling, stooping/crouching, hearing, near/far visual
acuity/depth perception and accommodation
D. Working Conditions: School kitchen with modern cooking equipment to include
dishwashers, steam tables, industrial stoves and ovens, walk-in
freezer etc. Exposure to cleaning agents and pesticides.
REPORTS TO: Cafeteria Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Clean serving counters, tables, chairs, food containers, and other equipment
Operate dishwasher and wash trays, plates, utensils, and other serving equipment
- Assist in setting up food preparation lines
Heat, set up, sell, and serve food to students and faculty
Assist in preparation of food, such as preparing sandwiches, mixing salads and dressings, grating cheese, and preparing fruits and vegetables
Assist in the receiving, loading, unloading, and storing of food, rotating stock, supplies, and materials
Clean and store kitchen equipment
Serve as cashier as assigned
Perform basic recordkeeping activities assigned
Wash pots and pans daily
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor of Operations
Evaluation: Annual evaluation performed by Dietary Management Professional
