Summary: The Production Manager will own the production process, ensuring consistent and steady operation. The Production Manager will instill a data-driven, continuous improvement mentality. The Production Manager will have direct supervisory responsibility of the Shift Supervisors by ensuring that the team supports all policies, goals, and objectives of the company while representing the company knowledgeably and professionally.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Leads others: expects, inspects, and coaches. Provides fast feedback. Holds people accountable.

· Leverages systems to drive behaviors. Identifies the system (or lack of a system) that is creating unwanted behaviors in production.

· Utilizes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for improvement.

· Manages an effective production budget. Communicates unanticipated deviations to General Manager.

· Promotes a proactive (vs. reactive) culture.

· Drives knowledge and problem-solving ability.

· Holds supervisors accountable for day-to-day operations.

· Owns the operator training and qualification process.

· Diligently seeks root cause.

· Inspires others through a shared vision of the future.

· Ensures compliance with safety and environmental programs and regulations.

· Ensures compliance with policies and procedures and issues disciplinary action to employees as needed, in coordination with Human Resources.

· Facilitates the performance management process to include conducting performance reviews and regularly scheduled one-on-one meetings with employees. Documents in the performance management system accordingly.

· Supports and promotes a positive and cooperative team environment that fosters creative problem solving and shared learning.

· Developing and successfully completing corrective action plans when goals are not met.

· Actively participate in quality and process improvement activities and projects.

· Performs duties in compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations and company policies and procedures.

· Performs other assignments as requested or as business needs require.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Strong Project Management Skills

Proven record in training employees about safety and production

Knowledge of EPA and OSHA requirements

Ability to coach and motivate employees.

Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of college-level education and experience.

Proficient at using Microsoft Office tools Excel, Word, and Outlook.

At least five years experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Read and comprehend instructions and understand manufacturing documents.

Ability to prioritize workload and take ownership of decisions.
