Mitchell Plastics in Charlestown is looking for motivated team members to join our assembly team on the night shift. The afternoon shift is scheduled Monday to Friday from 2:30pm - 11:00pm.

Position Details:

We currently have an opening for a Mold Tech Level II and Mold Tech Level III based out of Charlestown, Indiana. This position will report to the Molding Shift Supervisor.

• The Mold Tech will complete material changes, mold changes, process auditing, and problem solving for all molding operations.
• The successful candidate should have 3 years of molding experience and prior tech experience preferred.
• Must have a high level of material knowledge, SPC a plus. RJD, SSD or advanced molding systems preferred.
• Good root cause analysis skills, must be capable to use basic measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. Must also have basic mechanical, hydraulic and electrical knowledge.
• Must assist in troubleshooting part quality issues and determines root cause for defects.
• Improves part quality and performance by implementing countermeasures abased on investigation results.
• Ensures that all changes are confirmed and approved by required staff prior to production.
• Responsible to report set up errors to the Production Supervisor to allow proper containment and corrective actions.
• Assist with improvement projects as needed such as continuous improvement activities, corrective action activities and implementing Kaizen.
• Analyzes and completes all appropriate paperwork for tool damage per company TS standard. Confirm PCR process is followed and submit updated condition sheets as needed to maintain effective processes.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing day to day molding/extruder problems such as cleaning molds/dies, replacing SSD and load cell cables, repairing machine chutes, installing mold curtains, etc.
• Assist in robot settings in regards to times and positions.
• Notifies maintenance in the event that a speed control required adjusting.
• Perform diagnostic checks of machinery as needed to ensure equipment is capable of process requirements.
• Notifies maintenance if repairs are needed.
