The Plant Manager is responsible for the management, coordination, and successful execution of the production plan, ensuring that productivity increases and production targets are met on time. These duties often include direction and coordination of multiple production operations in a manufacturing facility through Production Supervisors and Assistant Department Supervisors. Other responsibilities may include facility logistics activities.

A. Essential Functions

1. Oversee multiple production operations; create and implement standard operating procedures for production operations.

2. Ensure implementation and evolution of safety procedures; ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed.

3. Coach, develop, and manage performance of direct reports.

4. Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of change management processes and best practices.

5. Ensure planned efficiency and performance standards are met or exceeded and that production is cost-effective.

6. Responsible for work-in-process transactions and accurate records.

7. Work with the production, planning, purchasing, engineering, and quality functions to ensure operations meet production requirements and maintain customer service levels.

8. Ensure manufacturing lead-time control, accuracy, and reliability.

B. Additional Job Responsibilities

1. Coordinate with outside casting sales team on future build schedules to meet anticipated customer needs.

2. Coordinate with operations, quality, and engineering for all product development initiatives.

3. Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.

4. Maintain current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, and statistical studies.

5. Production Control Manager in Sultan may also have inventory and planning responsibilities.

6. Fulfill the Accident Prevention Program responsibilities defined by Romac’s Environmental, Health, & Safety team.

C. Minimum Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

2. 10+ years of experience in progressively responsible manufacturing and/or production roles

3. 5+ years of experience in management

4. Advanced manufacturing systems/planning knowledge; ERP experience

5. Advanced computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

6. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget

7. Exceptional leadership, organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal communication skills

D. Additional Preferred Qualifications

1. Ability to communicate (oral and written) with Spanish speaking candidates and customers

2. 3-5 years of established relationships with state, regional, and city contacts

3. Judgment and Decision Making: Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one

4. Critical Thinking: Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

5. Management of Personnel Resources: Motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job

6. Monitoring: Monitor/assess one’s own performance as well as the performance of other individuals or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action

7. Time Management: Manage one's own time and the time of others

8. Complex Problem Solving: Identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

9. Mathematics: Using mathematics to solve problems

10. Systems Evaluation: Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system

11. Service Orientation: Actively look for ways to help people

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $109,500.00 - $175,200.00 per year
