Pile-Buck Driver Operator POSITION OVERVIEW

The Pile-Buck Driver Operator is responsible for operating heavy machines that pound steel, concrete, and wood posts into the ground for construction projects. Essential Functions

• Safely and skillfully operates pile-driving machinery to drive posts into the ground for support of fences, buildings, and other structures.
• Reviews building plans, ensuring pilings are installed accurately.
• Inspects machinery prior to beginning shift to ensure there are no mechanical problems. Cleans, lubricates, and performs basic maintenance on machinery.
• and other heavy/light construction equipment.
• Works on the ground with crew when not operating equipment; this may include but is not limited to labor and other tasks.
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline workflows, and work cooperatively to provide great customer service.
• Consistently show up for work on time and stay for the duration of the shift.
• Exemplifies the culture of hard work and continuous improvement while fostering stability and sustainable growth.
• Ensures safety is an everyday topic and supersedes all other factors to prevent accidents and create a safe working environment for everyone by ensuring equipment is maintained and secure at the work site; following proper equipment operating procedures; and safety procedures and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings safety concerns and problems to the immediate attention of the Foreman, Superintendent or Safety Manager.
• Fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS Required Education & Work Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical school training preferred.
• 2+ years of Pile-Buck Driver operation is required.
• 2+ years of commercial, marine, or other relevant experience required.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Excellent mechanical Skills.
• Able to safely operate heavy, complex construction equipment.
• Excellent eye-hand coordination.
• Knowledge of methods, and techniques of utility installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of materials used in system construction and repair.
• Knowledge of hazards and applicable safety rules and precautions in equipment operations.
• Skilled in the use and care of tools and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to interpret and work from construction drawings and standard plans.
• Able to work independently and with others as needed.
• Fluency in English language is preferred but not required.
• Ability to communicate and understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with coworkers, subcontractors, and clients
• Must be able to work as a team.
• Able to take and follow directions from supervisor.
• Proactively seeks help and direction as needed.
• Ability to focus attention on details and follow work rules.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to operate equipment for prolonged periods
