Job Summary

  • Treats and evaluates patients; administers patient care in a particular clinical specialty area, under the direction of the licensed physician. Knowledgeable about patient care diagnosis and treatment, current methods and techniques of practice. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities in accordance with scope of practice and licensure guidelines and in collaboration with and under the direction of the licensed physician.

General Responsibilities

  • Complies with all Temple University Health System policies and procedures, and all applicable accreditation standards, laws and regulations, including those regarding patient confidentiality such as, but not limited to, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, P. L. 104-191 ('HIPAA') and the rules and regulations implemented hereunder.

Able to address the needs of patients in acute care, intensive care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient settings.
  • Provides necessary discharge instructions. All documentation completed in compliance with department standards.
  • Communicates with healthcare team regarding patient's progress, changes in condition, follow-up recommendations, physician's orders needed, and the discharge plan.
