Job Details: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, Onsite

Pay: $3,700 - $4,500 / Month DOE

Summary:

The Personal Injury Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; interviewing clients and witnesses; research, investigations, and fact checking; and trial preparation.

Primary Responsibilities:

- First point of contact for initial intakes, requiring knowledge of liability as well as knowledge of possible insurance claims.
- Open new cases in the system and notify all interested parties including knowledge of Medicare and other health insurance subrogation requirements.
- Assist attorneys with case management from case inception through trial preparation including hearings, depositions, and trail with minimal supervision.
- Ensure medical records and investigation items are ordered and able to provide succinct summations for medical chronologies.
- Draft correspondence, doctor's letters, demands, and legal documents including pleadings and motions (according to judicial procedures), affidavits, and interrogatories.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize.
- Attentive to detail and accurate.
- Discretion and trustworthiness due to frequent contact with confidential information and sensitive subject matter.
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information in English.
- Strong math skills including the ability to understand and perform basic arithmetic functions.
- Bilingual Spanish desired.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal court litigation and E-filing procedures desired.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Three to five years of personal injury experience required.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Must have the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift up to fifteen pounds at times. Work may require flexible hours with occasional evening work. May involve occasional travel.
