Primary Objective
: Responsible for providing employee payroll support and back-up with a customer-focused approach, ensuring efficient, compliant, and accurate delivery of payroll services, processing, system administration and payroll tax administration. Will also provide accounting and reporting support.

Essential Functions
  • Support payroll operations and payroll systems to ensure overall regulatory compliance and efficiency.
  • Assist with timely and accurate processing, delivery and reconciliation of semi-monthly salaried and hourly payroll and special payroll runs.
  • Assist in the management and process of both Major League and Minor League payroll ensuring the accurate reporting of player moves and subsequent payroll changes
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant reporting standards including taxes, tax filings, garnishments, and interfaces with third party service providers (e.g., timekeeping, tax service, HR systems).
  • Build relationships and collaborate with employees and People & Culture partners to facilitate a customer-centered approach to provide payroll support and resolve issues.
  • Assist in the resolution of complex and escalated payroll issues.
  • Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams on allocations and general ledger needs and discrepancies, including reconciliation and periodic reporting requirements. Ensure proper accruals and accounting are administered for known payroll impacts.
  • Work effectively across all levels and layers of the organization.
  • Demonstrates extreme discretion in managing highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

Education &
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Equivalent, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education if approved by management.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Finance/Accounting required.
  • Familiarity with timekeeping and payroll systems required. Prior experience with UKG and Workday preferred.
  • Proficient with all Office applications with an emphasis on Excel required.
  • Membership in the American Payroll Association is a plus.

The anticipated range of base compensation for this role is $75,000 to $85,000 annually.
