This is complex clerical work that requires the application of moderately advanced accounting principles to the maintenance of financial and accounting records. Duties include reviewing and processing payroll data and distribute pay warrants biweekly so employees will be paid. Duties also include working with health, dental and vision insurance billings; audit payment vouchers, and posting to the City's Financial System for payment and recording.

A solid knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and JD Edwards are desired.

A successful candidate will be a good communicator, customer service driven, a motivated self-starter, innovative improving processes and achieving strategic goals and objectives.

Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by coursework in accounting and 2 years of experience working with payroll or financial systems; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.


To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week.

To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week.

Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
