A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PATIENT FOOD SERVICES HOST - HOSTESS

As a Patient Food Services Host - Hostess, you promote meal assistance for all healthcare patients on a daily basis which includes meal selection, service, and retrieval. Working closely with patients, you help them make the best daily menu choices to support their medical health needs. You also have the opportunity to prepare, assemble, and deliver delicious, nutritious meals and snacks.

You communicate often with the clinical dietician regarding patient concerns. For those on modified diets, you use your expertise to calculate and assemble trays that meet their specific needs, whether it's fluid restrictions, calorie requirements, or other special dietary needs. This is a fulfilling position that allows you to make a real impact on the lives of patients, and you feel good about the role you play!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PATIENT FOOD SERVICES HOST - HOSTESS

Minimum Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Alaska food worker's card or ServSafe certification contingent upon 90 days of hire
• Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act, and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act.
• Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• This contract requires all employees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals that are offered positions and are prevented from being vaccinated due to medical or religious reasons will work closely with human resources to evaluate their specific situations.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one year of directly related restaurant or healthcare food preparation experience
