Description
As a member of the Patient Services team, and under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Associate (PCA) performs all aspects of first-level patient care, and also assumes responsibility for maintenance of all emergency equipment supplies. The PCA ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors, and coworkers, as well as appropriate utilization of resources. This position provides rapid response to patient/family needs and requests.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED
- Medical terminology preferred
- Experience equivalent to 100 hours of patient care experience strongly preferred.
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge related to the age and development of the patient population served.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required; can be obtained after hire.
- Certified Nurse Assistant preferred.
