Department: Building & Grounds FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

Pay Range: starting $12 an hour Leadership Level: Leader

Work Schedule:

Up to 29 hours a week, evening and weekends.

Position Summary:

This position supports the work of the Racine Family YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

To follow established schedule cleaning of locker rooms, and assist in cleaning all main program areas, respond to janitorial needs that may arise during operating hours and ensure facility is clean and ready for the next morning.

Essential Function

1. Organize and prioritize work, with supervisor’s assistance.

2. Review cleaning schedule

3. Respond to immediate janitorial issues when asked by the Membership Staff and or Administrators.

4. Ensure facilities are generally sanitary and paper supplies are stocked for membership areas, particularly the Locker Rooms.

5. General pool janitorial duties.

6. Complete assigned work orders and keeping facility well maintained.

7. Clean areas as assigned on the janitorial schedule

8. Keep facility well maintained.

9. Attempt to clean when areas are not in use

10. Assist with “Annual Pool Shutdown” projects or special events projects as assigned

11. Other duties as assigned.

• Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions of the position.
• Walking and standing for 3-4 hours at a time.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional exposure to outside elements for 2-3 hours at a time. Outside temperature range from

-10 to 100 degrees F.

• Exposure to cleaning chemicals
• Negotiating stairs
• May require assisting in snow removal i.e. shovel front sidewalk, broadcast salt, etc.

Qualifications

1. Minimum age requirement of 18

2. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

3. Reliable transporation.
