POSITION SUMMARY

Under the Senior Pastor's leadership, the Outreach Center Director will develop strategies and provide leadership, vision, and management for the Grove Outreach Center programs. In addition, the Outreach Center Director will also assist persons in need within our congregation and community, build relationships with key community and ministry leaders and organizations, plan/develop for future engagement opportunities, and represent the Grove at community meetings to share 'The Grove Outreach Mission.'

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS

· Grow our network of partnerships with other churches, ministry influencers, organizations, and businesses to provide services that minister to the needs of our congregation and community.

· Revitalize The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church Food Drive-Through / Walk-Up Pantry.

· Secure food and grocery donations through community partnerships and donors.

· Secure volunteers to deliver food to members and friends in the community who cannot pick up food on their own.

· Identify local schools and apartment complexes in need and provide an on-location food pantry.

· Partner with The Greater Piney Grove Community Development Center (CDC) in obtaining partners and sponsors for annual holiday food planning, i.e., Easter and Thanksgiving.

· Remain well-informed of and evaluate trends affecting the community and the Grove.

· Research grant opportunities that align with our mission, vision, and values.

· Maintain a detailed understanding of organizational programs and partnerships to create strong grant proposals that help support community projects and the Outreach Center goals.

o Prepare grant proposals by gathering, and formatting information, writing drafts, incorporating feedback, and obtaining approvals to move forward.

· Develop outcomes-based metrics and measures to determine the effectiveness of the Outreach Center efforts.

· Ensure record keeping and statistical information are maintained, updated, and communicated.

· Prepare periodic and annual reports regarding funding sources and the effectiveness and achievements of the Outreach Center programs.

· Oversee the procedures and programs by which grants are recorded and acknowledged, our donors are recognized and appreciated, and accurate financial records and files are maintained.

· Update job knowledge by participating in educational and networking opportunities.

· Serve as a subject matter expert on available resources and support for persons in need throughout the church and community.

· Serve on community service boards and with community service organizations.

· Maintain and develop partnerships with governmental and social service agencies to assist persons in need within our congregation and community.

· Develop an Outreach Volunteer program to support the operational and administrative functions under the Outreach Center Director, including recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and training.

· Work with Pillar Leaders of the Grove to strengthen collaborative Outreach opportunities for all ministries.

· Give oversight to content creation for communications related to the Outreach Center, including social media, Newsflash, and promotional tools.

· Serve as the Pillar Leader for the Missions Ministry, providing strategic leadership and planning support as well as oversight of financial allocations and processes.

· Foster a cooperative, healthy, and motivating relationship with the Senior Pastor, deacons, pillar leaders, staff, volunteers, members, friends, and families within the community.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education or experience (e.g., social sciences, social work, public health, public policy, ministry). Pastoral Care / Ministerial experience preferred.

· Three (3) years of previous work with non-profits or faith-based service organizations, retail, healthcare, or corporate business (i.e., diversity, equity, and inclusion (or corporate foundation).

· Experience in research and writing proposals, preferably with grant writing. However, we will consider transferrable expertise.

· Passion for working in areas of high need.

· Three (3) years of demonstrated leadership experience in outreach projects, volunteer management, and training/facilitation.

· Excellent technological skills and computer fluency, including Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to learn and utilize various databases, reporting tools, and other technology/systems.

· Technology savvy: Someone who leverages technology to connect, communicate, organize, and plan.

· Maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License with a good driving record and access to a dependable vehicle.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Experience with outreach/missions, administration, and volunteer coordination.

· Intricate knowledge of local human service providers, programs, and resources.

· Extensive knowledge of grant writing, grants management, related practices and procedures, applicable laws, and standards unique to funding sources.

· Ability to assemble information, analyze data, and generate written reports, concisely and effectively.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Emphasis on accuracy, timelines, and follow-up, including the ability to set priorities and develop plans to execute those priorities.

· Strong time management skills.

· Self-motivated with minimal need for supervisory direction.

· Humble, flexible, and teachable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,512.00 - $45,654.00 per year
