Your areas of responsibility:

The Operations Manager, reporting to the Plant Manager, is a vital part of the senior leadership team and is responsible for leading and coordinating the schedule and activities concerned with production and quality control in the South Plant at the Harvey facility. This very important leadership position is responsible for overseeing 3 supervisors and approximately 35 employees who are involved with the production and packaging of materials in the plant.

• Coordinates and leads the daily, weekly, and monthly activities of the production area to ensure production output meets customer demand.
• Collaborate with management to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods through process evaluation and statistical methods.
• Lead projects with the goal of improving plant effectiveness through scrap reduction, process flow efficiency, quality improvement and optimization of process for safer production.
• Conduct and drive employee safety programs through communication and change management
• Reviews and analyzes production and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems, and implements improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Work with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Provides and/or coordinates training for team members and assists in the continuous development of the training program.
• Provide the technical interface between lab and operations personnel to ensure processes and methods are transferred effectively.
• Influential capabilities to ensure team is moving in the right direction and drive ownership

Qualifications we are looking for:

• BS in STEM related discipline required, preferably Chemistry or Engineering.
• 5+ years of plant management experience in a batch chemical facility.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage change within a group and build strong interdependent teams
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently
• Experience with applicable EPA and OSHA regulations and ISO standards
• Strong computer skills required. Experience with SAP a plus.
• Experience with working in visual factory environment with strong housekeeping standards
