Overview

The Operations Controller provides financial leadership to the manufacturing facility. They will be responsible for maintaining a control environment that complies with the Company’s internal and operational control policies. The Operations Controller is expected to be a dynamic leader on the plant leadership team by contributing to all areas of plant and financial management.

Reports to

This position reports directly to site Controller with strong reporting accountability for driving results to the Plant Manager

Key Responsibilities

Operational Controls

  • Ensures that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including: data integrity for BOMs and Routings, asset protection, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations.
  • Creation of Operational Data to support manufacturing cost analysis including operational routers, work centers, and reporting processes.
  • Lead team through ERP maturity in utilizing tools and further increasing capabilities of site through ERP tool.
  • Lead Cycle Count and other Inventory initiatives. Driving processes that lead to daily accountability to activities and corrections when necessary.
  • Create reporting and review process for labor reporting of shop floor employees and material allocations to identify, remediate, and put processes in place to correct variances from expectations.
  • Review Site Fixed Assets onsite and work with site teams to lead capital replacement project submissions verifying accurate return on investment analysis.
  • Developing process and reviewing variances of raw material spend from expectation to develop appropriate actions to maintain site controls and profitability.
  • Post Operational Accounts to subledgers tying to the GL working with Site Controller for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Supporting Site Controller and Site Plant Manager as needed to drive operational and financial improvements to the site to improve Cash Flow and Profitability.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

  • Providing leadership to organizations. Preferred within a manufacturing operation(s).
  • ERP implementation and integration or demonstrated improvements to existing systems.
  • Delivering continuous improvement on processes to achieve improved results following consistent methodology.
  • Experience working with profit & loss, cash flow, and balance sheet statements.
  • Demonstrated growth in previous experience.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or relevant discipline required. MBA, CMA, CPA preferred.
