Overview
What you will do:
- Responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation which impact positively our risk-adjusted patient mortality index and risk-adjusted patient complications index.
- Reviews clinical documentation to assure that the documentation supports services provided to the patient and supports appropriate reimbursement for the level of services rendered to patients.
- Makes suggestions for documentation improvement through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, case managers and coding staff. Ensures that the documentation reflects the acuity of the patient and the patient’s severity of illness.
- Ensures the accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician, hospital and core measure outcomes.
- Educates members of the patient care team on an ongoing basis.
What you will need:
- Education: RN required. Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred but not required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years recent experience in a hospital clinical setting. Work in a critical care, medical/surgical or Emergency Department preferred. Utilization Review/Case Management experience preferred. - Certification/License/Registration: Must maintain a Registered Nurse license in the state of Georgia.
