Summary

The purpose of the Hatchery Egg Room Attendant position is to maintain an organized egg room, unload trucks and Monitor the Hatchery operations. To monitor incubators and hatchers so that they are operating within the set parameters to achieve optimum hatch.

Hours of Work: Generally 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. and may vary as scheduled by management. Overtime may be scheduled as needed and directed by management

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Monitor incubators and hatchers so that they are operating within the set parameters. Record temperatures and humidity on incubators and hatchers every 3 hours. Correct any issues that are outside the parameters. Report any issues that cannot be corrected without assistance to management and maintenance. Unloading egg trucks that arrive on the scheduled shift and arranging in the warehouse to promote easy access when setting eggs. Identify and verify that load matches the load shipment documents.
  • Maintain and clean the warehouse to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Clean hallways per scheduled intervals.
  • Must follow poultry welfare guidelines.
  • Associate is expected to perform all the required job duties, along with any other request made by management. Following all Company policies as it related the job duties.


Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (include any specialized or technical knowledge, certifications, credentials or licensing required for this position).


Experience Preferred

REQUIRED: Able to understand and communicate in English to management Math, Reading and Writing.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from 60 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity’s up to 100%.
  • Exposed to chemicals, drugs and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and push egg racks weighing 750 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment
