Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager.
Applicants Job Requirements Include:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Bio-Chemistry, Life Science, Applied Science degree or may also meet educational requirements based on required college hours and MLT certification in accordance with CLIA personnel requirements.
- Preferred: Two (2) years experience working a hospital laboratory.
- Preferred: Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
