Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and highly organized Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our healthcare facility. The Medical Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the front desk area, providing excellent customer service to patients, and assisting with administrative tasks. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have a compassionate and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities:

Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a warm and friendly manner.

Register new patients and update existing patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Verify patient insurance coverage and collect co-payments or other fees as required.

Schedule patient appointments, therapy, and follow-up visits, coordinating with healthcare providers and other staff members.

Answer and manage incoming phone calls, taking accurate messages and transferring calls as necessary.

Respond to patient inquiries, provide information about services, and address general questions or concerns.

Maintain a neat and organized front desk area, ensuring that patient files and records are properly managed and confidential.

Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient referrals, obtain necessary medical records, and schedule specialty appointments.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Handle patient emergencies or urgent situations calmly and efficiently, following established protocols.

Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and staff members to facilitate smooth patient flow and address any operational issues.

Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.

Assist with basic administrative tasks, such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.

Stay updated on changes in medical insurance policies, coding, and billing practices.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience working in a medical office or similar healthcare setting preferred.

Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical practice management software.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus.

Familiarity with insurance verification and billing processes.

Professional and empathetic demeanor when interacting with patients.

Ability to handle difficult or upset patients with tact and patience.

Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
