INSURANCE VERIFICATION / MEDICAL BENEFITS INVESTIGATION

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years' experience in medical, healthcare or insurance (i.e. pharmacy, doctor's office, hospital, medical billing, hub, health plan services, etc.), preferred.
• Insurance or benefits verification, claims or medical billing experience, a plus.
• Orthopedic, pain management, or physical therapy related experience, a plus.
• Experience interacting with doctors offices, insurance plans and/or pharmacies, preferred.
• Ability to maintain strict HIPAA patient confidentiality and protecting PHI.
• Strong computer skills. Adaptable and eager to learn. Open to cross-training to build on experience.

MEDICAL BENEFITS / INSURANCE VERIFICATION SPECIALIST

Essential Functions:

• Researches and obtains information regarding patients' insurance coverage and benefits in order to help facilitate patients' treatment.
• Handles benefits request investigations submitted by MD (medical doctors) offices.
• Contacts insurance companies to obtain info on a patient's medical benefits.
• Obtains each case's medical benefits for the procedure/diagnosis codes for the requested or prescribed medication or treatment.
• May interact with MD offices, other representatives, provides excellent customer service, and documents case notes.

Hours:

Monday-Friday, shifts may be available between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, for full-time hours. Earliest shift: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, latest shift: 11:30 AM-8:00 PM, other common shifts: 9:00 AM-5:30 PM, 9:30 AM-6:00 PM.

Compensation:

Starting at $18 per hour (higher rate may be possible). Higher rates may be considered for excellent candidates! Offer based upon experience, education, and interview process.
