The revenue cycle is defined as all administrative functions that contribute to the capture, management and collection of client service revenue. The Financial Counselor is responsible for enhancing and maintaining a properly functioning revenue cycle process through a cross-department, cross organization structure. These functional areas act interdependently during a client stay, contributing required information for procuring payment. Obtains, educates & counsels current residents to identify, disclose and properly complete asset tests. Generates monthly bills for independent living residents, personal care residents, and handles all miscellaneous cash receipts; manages all financial related information/documentation during the resident’s length of stay; repeats asset test for all current IL & PCF residents within the specified regulatory timeframes. Performs billing, entry, and cash receipts for the Path stones program.

The Financial Counselor is expected to demonstrate, through plans and actions, that there is a consistent standard of excellence to which all departmental work is expected to conform. Such standard should be based on establishing and maintaining a constancy of purpose, focusing on continuous improvement and delivering the highest degree of customer service and quality as possible.
