Overview:
The Cardiology Clinic Medical Assistant is accountable for the provision of care as delegated according to the policies, procedures and standards of the Medical Center. The Medical Assistant will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts. Graduate of approved program Medical Assistants.
SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION:
This position is a designated as “Safety Sensitive Position” under Act 593 of the State of Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and supporting the delivery health care related services.Qualifications:
MA Diploma preferred
Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
Basic Computer Skills
Ability to Multi task and handle busy and stressful situations
Adhere to dress code, conduct and attendance polices of Medical Center Responsibilities:

- Assists Physician/Nurse Practitioner with patient assessment, examination, and procedures.
- Enters all necessary patient information in computer.
- Makes and returns phone calls in a timely manner.
- Communicates lab results to patient by either mail or telephone within 48 hours.
- Performs EKGs.
- Maintains supplies and equipment for patient care.
- Maintains current CPR certification and license at all times.
- Works with Infection Control nurse, safety specialist, etc., to maintain appropriate clinic environment.
- Utilizes effective interpersonal skills with patients, physicians, and other clinic staff.
- Attends in-services and seminars as requested by Clinic supervisor.
- Performs other allowable duties as assigned by Clinic Supervisor, which may include assisting in other areas of clinic operations when not performing primary duties.
- Maintains consistent chart records.
- Demonstrates advocacy for patients and staff.
- Participates in activities that promote personal and professional development.
- Conveys information acquired through seminars and workshops to unit team members.
