For more than 50 years, the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with PARC Designation (above Level 1) has been a worldwide leader in trauma care. Shock Trauma is the heart of Maryland’s exceptional Emergency Medical Services (EMS)—the first coordinated system in the country and a national model of excellence. The Shock Trauma Outpatient Pavilion is one our our 12 trauma units, each a different focus and acuity.

We are looking for talented Registered Nurses to join our Shock Trauma Outpatient Pavilion team here at University of Maryland Medical Center.

About the Unit

The Shock Trauma Outpatient Pavilion (STOP) is a busy clinic designed to care for the Trauma patient once discharged from the inpatient setting,

  • There are eight different Trauma services that see patients in this outpatient setting. This includes the Trauma teams A, B, and C, Trauma Vascular, Soft Tissue, Neuro Trauma, Plastic Surgery, and the Acute Care Emergency Surgery (ACES) service.
  • The clinic also provides care to the Orthopedic Trauma population. There are seven Orthopedic Physicians and one Podiatrist staffed in conjunction with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to provide comprehensive follow-up.
  • The clinic sees 100 patients a day

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to compact state requirements outlined by the Maryland Board of Nursing
