POSITION SUMMARY:

The Material Handler is responsible for the physical loading, unloading and/or sorting of packages of varying sizes and weights by hand, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, scanning, placing packages, as well as physical bending, twisting, kneeling etc. in a safe and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Picks orders based on customer specifications.
• Scans materials and data entry when required.
• Reviews orders prior to packaging for accuracy and quality.
• Packs orders to ensure that it reaches our customer in excellent condition.
• Inspects raw materials for damage, contamination, or discoloration.
• Documents incoming shipments and movements as required.
• Communicates effectively and appropriately with Production, Quality, and Group Leaders.
• Reviews orders prior to packaging for accuracy and quality.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

• Preferred Degree: Associates Degree or Trade School
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year required, 3 years preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience operating a forklift and or picker is a plus.
• Strong organizational and clerical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Experienced using MS Office Suite
• Understanding of database/computer programs
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently with internal customers and company personnel with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Complies with all safety policies and procedures
