POSITION SUMMARY: Operates and maintains the Chemical Room. Performs equipment repair and plant maintenance functions. Performs general building maintenance and assists manufacturing as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operates the Chemical Room including managing chemical cleaning requirements for raw components and finished feedthrus. Maintains compliance with OSHA, HAZMAT, Environmental and other Safety requirements for chemical handling.

Performs chemical alteration of material: pre and post etching of glass

Supports the Direct Fire Manufacturing Operations

Preforms glass lot evaluations to determine pre-etch preparations requirements.

Maintains equipment and building including preventative maintenance.

Specifies and orders maintenance equipment and supplies. Works with outside vendors and contractors

Recommends equipment capital improvement projects and cost reductions.

May be called upon to make job estimates, material lists.

Performs general tasks on the maintenance of plant or office buildings.

Including mowing, weed whacking, leaf blowing, general outside clean up

Must be capable of working off ladders, this includes being able to carry and set up 20ft extension ladder.

Performs other miscellaneous duties and special projects that may be assigned.

EQUIPMENT USED:

Hand tool, power tools, microscopes; magnifying lenses; tweezers, micrometers, verniers, computer, copy machine

DEXTERITY REQUIREMENTS:

Hand/eye coordination; handling (holding, grasping); fingering (picking, pinching); wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation).

LIFTING REQUIREMENTS:

Routine weight lifted < 1 pound. Heaviest weight lifted is 75 pounds.

CARRYING REQUIREMENTS:

Average weight carried < 1 pound. Heaviest weight carried is < 20 pounds.

High School Graduate or equivalent.

Pay: $18.42 - $22.18 per hour
