OVERVIEW:

The Talent Manager will support the Director of Human Resources and act as the talent management / organizational development business partner, advisor, and facilitator by actively driving the planning and administration of all talent management, succession planning and career development in the US and Canada. The Talent Manager will plan and execute company-wide efforts that ensure onboarding, training, performance management, and talent quality improvement programs are created and managed using a data-driven focus that aligns with RS's mission, vision, values, culture, and core competencies. Additionally, the Talent Manager will build and maintain effective programs for retention, promotion, and succession planning - ensuring a positive onboarding experience for new hires and promotions. As a member of the RS extended management team, this position will support an organizational culture that cares for others' well-being through best practices in health and safety, in addition to the company's values of respect, safety, resillience, teamwork and professional growth.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consults with leaders, hiring managers and the human resources team on all functions related to talent management
  • Research, recommend and implement strategic sourcing for active and passive candidate recruiting
  • Continuously develops networks/partnerships to actively build a database/pipeline of candidates and the company brand
  • Communicates with the RS leadership team, managers, and employees regularly to promote referral programs and internal opportunities
  • Leverage the HRIS, LMS, and supporting technologies to implement best practice talent management and learning and development processes and solutions that maximize the employee experience
  • Manage the Talent Acquisition Specialist to ensure support and completion of Talent Management responsibilities
  • Manages end-to-end talent acquisition program, including generating offer letters, maintaining applicant tracking system, recruiting reports and other staffing administration functions
  • Oversees the onboarding and offboarding program
  • Lead the implementation of all talent, leadership and team planning processes, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to succession planning, leadership selection and assessment (predictive index, 9 boxes, talent review, talent matrixes, etc.)
  • Support the development of a new site launch playbook to establish scalable deployment of new production facilities
  • Own and manage reporting metrics such as time to fill, sourcing channel, retention rate, cost of hire, and report on a reoccurring frequency.
  • Support the design and implementation of the overall recruiting strategy.
  • Other duties as assigned

TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years of talent management, talent programs, and/or succession planning experience.
  • Experience working with data, analytics, and generating insights.
  • Ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders requiring enterprise-wide implementation/change management.
  • Knowledge of best practices in talent management.
  • Robust experience using HRIS and applicant tracking systems.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or equivalent preferred.
  • HR experience or experience working in an HR COE.
  • Experience with Ceridian/Dayforce is an asset.
  • Excellent oral communication skills through demonstrated persuasive communication and knowledge sharing at all levels of the organization (e.g., executive communications), both in person and virtually.
  • Robust experience using HRIS and applicant tracking systems. Experience with Ceridian/Dayforce is an asset.
  • Experience supporting transformation programs and large-scale change initiatives.
  • Experience identifying and maintaining critical KPI metrics to proactively identify the success of programs and approaches to ensure focused outcomes are achieved.

  • Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours
  • Ability to travel when required
