KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate risk exposures and develop and design effective risk management programs to mitigate risk that may affect the company’s reputation, safety, security and stability.
• Conduct risk assessments, collect and analyze documentation, reports and market information.
• Perform loss analyses to determine attributes of losses in order to develop measures to prevent recurrences
• Develop measurement tools to monitor, benchmark and set goals and targets, reporting out monthly/quarterly.
• Drive reduced insurance risk rating, and support risk reduction through measurable data insights.
• Liaise closely with insurance partners, other professionals in the space.
• Develop and present out reporting on risk trends, cost/benefit analysis, etc. for executive and senior leadership.
• Champion an organizational culture of risk awareness and risk mitigation.
• Oversee and ensure effectiveness and efficiency of claims reporting across a large multi-location organization.
• Hands on partnership with distribution center and store teams to understand the work and physical environments and build collaborative relationships. Working out of a warehouse office location, and frequently visiting other locations.
• Support the development and and preparation of information for insurance renewals
• Assist fleet managers in controlling the risk of owner/operator management
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or other related field.
• Insurance or advanced safety designation would be an asset
• Strong knowledge of financial and operational risk management, employee and customer safety, regulatory compliance (OSHA FMCSA/DOT, EEOC), claims management, injury prevention and mitigation.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity within Risk Management in a multi-state, multi-location operation.
• Working knowledge of the main lines of insurance coverages, exposures and renewal process
• Experience in RMIS (Risk Management Information System) preferred
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Strong Communication Skills – written and verbal
• Ethical Conduct
• Detail oriented
• Non-judgmental and not easily offended. Effective collaborator.
• Ability to research, investigate and obtain facts and information necessary to properly report on and evaluate risk
• Ability to develop and implement corrective measures to reduce exposures, incidents and financial losses management incidents
• Ability to work with the different levels of management, operations and teams
• Self starter, able to work independently, exercise appropriate action and good judgement
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize tasks and maintain control of work flow
• Must be able and available to work non-regular hours in the event of an accident or other type of loss
