Are you enthusiastic about developing and driving a creative strategy? As a Manager, Creative Services for Vanguard, you will lead the creative strategy and direction in support of an internal communications team that is responsible for communicating the division strategy to internal audiences in a compelling and engaging way! You’ll lead a creative team of content strategists, designers, and more to ensure our written communications include multimedia design solutions.

In this role

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Directs and manages creative services projects and ensures a cohesive production or end-product. Translates strategy to creative outputs.
  • Connects the creative strategy to the communications strategy, including how the written and visual components come together to tell a compelling, engaging story for employees.
  • Organizes and leads brainstorming sessions and critiques to determine content, design, and presentation solutions. Collaborates with internal clients to determine creative tools and solutions, ensure appropriate staffing, and provide support and guidance each step of the process.
  • Quantifies and reviews team efficiency by analyzing data and researching root cause of any issues. Audits crew and teamwork for quality control. Identifies opportunities to revise or dispose of obsolete or inefficient processes and practices.
  • Communicates with all stakeholders, leaders, team members, management, and department partners to ensure that requirements and priorities are understood.
  • Provides status updates to the business regarding various creative services projects and processes. Partners with more senior managers to prioritize projects.
  • Maintains and develops design standards and brand identity. Complies with Vanguard policies regarding electronic media.
  • Presents content and design solutions to senior leaders, project teams, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoots with the business and leaders to ensure finalized products satisfy clients' needs and expectations. Garners support from leaders and overcomes obstacles. Oversees the budget and resourcing constraints and communicates proactively to leaders of any concerns.
  • Ensures all steps are taken to mitigate risk and maintains control, compliance, audit, and legal requirements in creative assets. Maintains an appropriate level of technical marketing and business knowledge to support program implementation.
  • May collaborate with external vendors on implementing artistic services or design solutions for Vanguard.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes

  • Five years related work experience.
  • Proficient in Adobe products, Illustrator, InDesign, SharePoint, PowerPoint.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graphic Design or other creative arts degree preferred.
