Job Description

The Manager - Business for sports medicine outreach is responsible for supporting the Andrews Institute leadership team. This includes overseeing the development of director goals, project work including special community events, and implementing all defined operations and clinical metrics. This position manages projects to completion according to established goals and objectives. This position is responsible to assist with the budgeting process and preparation including financial statement preparations, budget variance analysis, assists in contract process and monitoring, and program pro forma development for Orthopaedics, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies and procedures within the framework of the SMO department. This individual is responsible for establishing a positive working relationship with the leadership team to encourage growth, efficient patient care processes, and quality clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Report to Executive Director of Andrews Institute to coordinate, schedule and plan special events for regional promotions (Guest lectures, community awareness programs, mobile clinics, ATC visits, prevention of injury presentations, etc)
  • Work with all BHC Liaison's and Director to develop and continue the local service promotion strategy. Assist the liaisons in developing and maintaining existing referral relationships.
  • Tracks regional business impact from sports and active populations and adjust growth strategies, accordingly, based on success and opportunities identified within the region.
  • Create awareness of the services and availability at the Andrews Institute for all coaches/players/ sports within the defined market to include club and recreational sports programs.
  • Position will work with the entire Andrews institute team to ensure continuity of care for referrals and cooperation from providers and service points within system in order to exemplify best in class access and outcomes for sports referrals.
  • Assist AI in development of relationships with national sports organizations such as USA Football, International Softball Federation, USA Volleyball and other related sport's governing bodies and coaching membership organizations.
  • Assumes a leadership role in professional activities through public speaking opportunities and participating in hospital and community based activities.
  • Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.
  • Coordinate with Regional Physician Liaison to connect Andrews's partner physicians with regional opportunities based on need, expertise, and desire.
  • Provide access point for referrals from abroad region and work with on campus access team to ensure the visits are scheduled and follow up for opportunities to provide service recovery.
  • Facilitate introductions to all educational programs designed for coaches and parents of student-athletes.

Qualifications

Minimum Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration Preferred or
  • Bachelor's Degree Health Leisure & Exercise Scie Required

Minimum Work Experience
  • 7-9 years Experience with project/business/finance management experience Required and
  • 2 years Experience in a healthcare environment Required

  • Strong analytic skills to appropriately assess problems and needs; present data in a concise meaningful format, and the resourcefulness and sound judgment to propose solutions.
  • Ability to operate in a strategic/relationship building environment.
  • Interpersonal skills to manage and nurture institutional affiliations and to interact with internal and external physicians and executives.
  • Skills to effectively communicate with multiple departments to attain the highest quality and most effective provision of service to patients, family, physicians, and community.
  • Ability to organize work effectively to achieve timely progress on multiple tasks simultaneously, to establish priorities and distribute effort appropriately among tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Excellent written communication skills required to express complex ideas and proposals clearly and effectively to reader.
