A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The Maintenance Tech will work within our Grounds and Maintenance Dept. to assist with routine and preventive needs within our heavy equipment manufacturing and service shops. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and able to work independently or assist in team projects. Accountability and reliability are a must in this role.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

• Perform all grounds keeping maintenance duties such as lawn mowing, proper picking up and cleaning of the areas around all companies, weed-whacking, leaf blowing, snow removal and winter maintenance, etc.
• Operating and possible minor repairs of machinery in a safe and appropriate manner
• Maintaining of all equipment both on and off the grounds
• Day-to-day general maintenance duties as assigned
• Interior maintenance may also be requested (patching walls, painting, staining etc.)

Other Skills/Qualifications:

• Must have a driver's license with a clean background & driving record
• Basic computer skills required in order to use a laptop and a smart phone for diagnostic tools, service manual reviews, and completion of work orders/time entry
• Positive attitude to work in conjunction with our team in a dynamic fast paced environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle more than one task at any given time while possible interruptions may occur during the day
• Works both indoors and outdoors.
• Environment can be dirty and noisy.
• Wears appropriate protective clothing and equipment including gloves, safety glasses and ear protection when necessary.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience is required in Electrical, Plumbing, Groundskeeping
• High School diploma or its equivalent

Safety Sensitive Position

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects, and in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, around high voltage, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
