Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on dairy processing and packaging equipment. Great Benefits! Work Schedule Saturday - Wednesday 2pm - 10:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following, and any other duties that may be assigned by a supervisor:

  • Follow all Company Safety Policies.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems to component level.
  • Monitor plant systems (boiler, refrigeration, compressed air etc.) to ensure proper operation.
  • Make any repairs necessary to minimize production downtime
  • Perform preventive maintenance.
  • Complete documentation of work completed.
  • HACCP Training
  • Lockout/ Tag out Policy
  • Confined Space Entry Protocol
  • Annual HTST, Culture, and Blending Training.
  • Properly complete all records.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 2 years related experience with electrical troubleshooting/ motor control, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding and plumbing.

Formal training in Electrical, Welding, Boiler operation and/or Refrigeration systems a plus.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of maintenance mechanic the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms above shoulder height, talk and hear, taste and smell. The employee may be required to climb ladders and/or balance.

Basic requirements are bending at the waist, turning and stooping with occasional climbing and balance. Employees lift and/or move up to 55 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of maintenance mechanic, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical equipment. The employee occasionally works in high places and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. May have to work with or be exposed to cleaning chemicals containing sodium hydroxide or phosphoric acid requiring personal protective equipment. i.e.: goggles, gloves, rubber boots, etc.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires wearing hearing protection.

Work Schedules:

Workweek could vary; may include Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays with a specific weekday or rotating day off. Four; 10 hour days may also be scheduled.
