The Maintenance Technician/Mechanic (Jr.) position will learn and become responsible for performing highly diversified duties including install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities (that will be learned and developed)
  • Performs highly diversified duties to install, repair, and maintain production machines, tools, and fixtures.
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Performs mechanic skills activities including, but not limited to, the troubleshooting and repair of, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines under direction of sr maintenance technicians.
  • Maintains spare parts inventory of critical parts, consumables, and general supplies.
  • Sources parts, machine components, and supplies to generate purchase order requests.
  • Uses computerized maintenance management system to enter and close work orders, view schedules, etc.
  • Communicates with equipment manufacturer for technical support and service.
  • Communicates with machine operators and department leads to inform of equipment status and down time scheduling.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detects faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn Maintenance Technician work.
  • Technical Capacity to execute equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Good analytical critical thinking. Must have initiative and be results driven.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Education & Experience
  • Min 6 months of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School or relevant technical professional experience.

Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will often work near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, fumes or airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high requiring safety equipment to be utilized.

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Candidate must be able to perform the physical responsibilities of the job utilizing arms, hands, and fingers to perform complex functions of manufacturing parts and performing other duties of the job; e.g., standing, sitting, walking throughout the facility and stairs, bending, squatting, and kneeling, etc.
  • Must be physically fit and have ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
