Experienced Line Cook

The Country Club of Maryland seeking a full-time experienced Line Cook with a special focus on grill area who is eager to further his/her career. Located in Towson, MD, the Country Club of Maryland is a Member-owned private Golf Club that operates 7 days per week. The Club serves multiple dining rooms from one kitchen and one menu, offering lunch and dinner service. Our culinary team is expected to produce high quality meals with outstanding consistency.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate will have verifiable experience, specializing in the grill area. She/He must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar kitchen and be familiar with upscale casual and fine dining restaurants.

She/He will be punctual, energetic, organized, and ambitious with great general knowledge of food practices and cooking techniques.

Must have excellent knife skills and great knowledge of food practices and cooking techniques.

Should be able to prepare and execute key components of dishes on designated stations in addition to supporting fellow cooks at all times.

Proper communication with co-workers is extremely important.

FOOD SAFETY & PLANNING

Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.

Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation.

Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards.

SERV Safe certified Preferred. Will uphold all SERV Safe guidelines

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

A positive attitude, self-discipline, a polite manner and a neat and clean appearance are required.

Ability to work with a diverse team to ensure that quality and consistency standards are met. Must be able to handle the multi-tasking usually associated with coordinating a wide range of cooking activities

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a full-time position that requires flexibility. You must be able to work day, night and weekend shifts. The Club is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, but other holidays are required at times. The Club will offer competitive pay commensurate with the applicant’s experience and the current labor market, as well as an employee benefits package after eligibility waiting periods are met.
