Job Summary

Responsible for the late-night supervision and operation of the Service Desk and overall functioning of the library in the absence of full-time professional staff.

Shifts may include 8PM - 12AM Monday-Thursday; 12PM - 6PM Saturday; 6PM - 12AM Sunday dependent on availability.

Essential Functions

  • Handling a variety of situations related to access, facilities, and library services, often as the only staff on duty
  • Assisting library clients in locating materials, troubleshooting problems, and interpreting policies
  • Managing student employees at the Service Desk & performing general maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment
  • Assisting Public Safety with access issues & closing the library

Required Qualifications

HS Diploma or GED

Experience not required

Candidate must have strong customer service skills, be self-directed, and have acute attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Academic library experience, experience with library automated systems, and supervisory experience.

Sitting at a desk/table

Standing, walking

Lifting to 25 lbs.

Additional Information

This is a Casual, part-time, non-exempt position with hourly pay that is paid on a bi-weekly basis and is not qualified for benefits.
