Landscape Service Technician

• Mon-Fri 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Responsible for maintaining interiorscape accounts assigned to their care. On a structured schedule and within an allotted time frame, the technician maintains interior foliage plants by using accepted horticultural techniques.

Job Description

• Watering and fertilizing all plants as necessary.
• Keeping all plants cleaned, trimmed, and oriented to proper light.
• Removing any damaged or unsightly foliage.
• Removing debris from planters and maintaining planters in a neat and orderly manner.
• Preventing damage to surrounding floors, walls, and furniture from water and/or moisture.
• Keeping all plants free from disease and insects.
• Maintaining staging and top dressing for proper presentation.

General Administrative Responsibilities

• Daily call-in at the start and completion of the workday.
• Attendance at regular training sessions.
• Proper documentation of work orders, service records, and route cards.
• Timely requests for replacement plants and full knowledge of replacement budgets.
• Timely communication with the supervisor regarding account problems or concerns.
• Friendly, professional communication with client contact
• Proper maintenance and safe use of company tools, equipment, and vehicles

Skills Required

• Must be able to lift 10 lb. water buckets and/or load and unload 40-50 lb. water machines throughout the day
• Must be able to climb ladders and have good dexterous use of both hands
• Must be able to use scissors, pruners, hand saws, hoses and other small tools.
• Must be able to apply leaf cleaners and insecticides using hand-held pump sprayers.
• Must have a satisfactory safe driving record.
• Must be able to professionally communicate with clients and have a neat and clean appearance

Education/Training/Certifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Additional Requirements

• This is strenuous work requiring good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and the ability to work a 10-hour day in varying greenhouse and/or office conditions
• Horticultural Service Technicians must have a reliable personal vehicle available each workday for transportation to the accounts. Vehicle liability insurance and a valid driver's license are to be in place at all times. Mileage compensation will be provided
• Candidates MUST HAVE their own personal transportation
• Driver's License is REQUIRED in this position
