Title: Key Account Manager, Walmart

Reports to: Senior National Account Manager

Job Summary:

The Key Account Manager (KAM), Walmart is responsible for developing, executing and fostering a collaborative business partnership between Newell Brands and Walmart that delivers volume, share and profit objectives for the company across multiple product lines. The role is responsible for delivering annual financial and distribution objectives across a book of business. This role will build, manage and execute Joint Business Plans with the customer and work internally with cross functional team members to build and execute robust plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver invoice, POS and budget targets and operating income metrics for all business segment brands
  • Develop and execute a by customer/by category joint business plan that delivers on customer and company annual objectives
  • Work with Newell Brands and Walmart demand planning and customer supply chain staff to develop accurate sales forecasts and achieve specified levels of forecast accuracy
  • Lead process for managing trade spend/customer programs in collaboration with trade and finance through management of internal TPM system
  • Negotiate and manage trade funds to create customer and company value by consistently measuring and enforcing trade terms and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Build excellent customer relationships with buyers and cross functional customer team members (Planners, Supply Chain, etc.)
  • Lead and communicate initiatives and needs of the customer to deliver collaborative objectives
  • Use consumer insight, share and customer specific system data, and information systems to maximize market share, sales and profits
  • Leverage our brands and product mix to improve profitability and meet customer, shopper and Newell Brands targets
  • Monitor the competitors' brands and products as well as our market share, competitor market share, and Walmart’s market share to understand shopper trends and opportunities, and communicate to appropriate sales, trade and brand management stakeholders
  • Build and own three-year growth strategy

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience supporting +$50M book of business
  • 2-4 years of sales and/or channel and trade management experience
  • Experience selling general merchandise or consumer products goods
  • Strong project management skills, particularly with organization and prioritization of key initiatives
  • Ability to thrive and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong financial acumen, P&L management and managing trade management tools
  • Ability to review promotional recaps/analysis and draw insights from them to drive future decisions; adept at utilizing syndicated data (IRI or Nielsen in particular)
  • Demonstrated experience navigating and resolving conflict with external and internal partners
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • 15% Travel
