Junior Level Mechanical Engineer

POWER Engineers, Inc - Facilities Division seeks an Junior Level Mechanical Engineer to join our Madison, Wisconsin team. The Facilities Division specializes in Food & Beverage, Federal, and Industrial facility design. We are responsible leaders with a focus on the future while providing functional and high-performing projects. Our goal is to deliver the best possible projects and experiences for our clients, users, and communities. We do this through the integration of responsible design that includes new buildings, remodels, and additions as well as studies and evaluations of existing systems. A major component of our work is providing engineering services to help our clients change and adapt their facilities and systems to meet their changing goals.

Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Candidate to perform work under supervision and independently, knowledge of engineering principles, procedures, and code requirements
  • Ability to work with and be supported by Mid-level and Senior engineers for guidance
  • Shall be capable of working on all mechanical engineering tasks associated with the project; from proposal, design and drafting, engineering calculations, cost estimates to client reviews
  • Understanding of design and drafting utilizing AutoCad or Revit software
  • Understand principles of mechanical systems and theory, such as; heating and chilled water (hydronics), steam, compressed air, refrigeration, natural gas, and high-pressure water
  • Working and adhering to deadlines while also adapting to change
  • Must be adaptable, able to problem solve, learn and apply new technologies with minimal support
  • Good oral and written communication skills with cross-disciplinary team members and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage and produce results
  • Ability to travel

Desired Education/Experience

  • Ability to learn Autodesk Revit MEP or Plant 3D

POWER is a fun engineering firm. That might seem contradictory to some, but it works for us!

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $59K - $89K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
