As a Senior Systems Engineer-IT you will:
- Coordinate, develop, and integrate new systems in both physical and virtualized environments
- Develop and install upgrades to existing systems
- Develop scripts to improve system administration and deployment automation
- Develop and apply cybersecurity solutions
- Troubleshoot issues and provide support across the information system
- Solve complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
- Work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long-time perspective
- May function in project leadership roles and represents the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts
Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Required Skills and knowledge :
- Bash, Ansible, Python scripting experience highly desired
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience developing Ansible playbooks
- Experience using Git, GitLab, ClearQuest, ClearCase, Jira, or similar tools
Strong understanding and application of cybersecurity practices (STIG compliance, system accreditation, etc.) - Container experience (Docker, Kubernetes, etc)
- Windows and/or Solaris administration experience helpful. VMWare (or other virtualization platform) administration experience
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Interpersonal relationship skills are a must.
LOCATION SPECIFIC REQUIRMENTS : Product Support Facility (PSF) on Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado Springs, CO
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active DOD SECRET clearance, ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance
Salary Range:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado is $82,500 - $140,900 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Metis considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
