Overview

The IT Network Administrator is responsible for planning, monitoring, supporting, managing, and integrating the enterprise network systems that include both wireless and VoIP. IT Network Administrator will work under the supervision of the Sr. Network Administrator or Network Manager to monitor the network infrastructure, switches, routers, WiFi, and other network components. Responsibilities Involve the configuration and maintenance of both the physical and logical network infrastructure. Maintain and monitor firewall network in/out traffics for any anomaly activities.

Essential Functions

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Sacramento their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service.
  • Assess requirements for data and voice networks.
  • Create and maintain detailed Network and infrastructure documentation and layout.
  • Maintain and implement run book and disaster recovery plans.
  • Responsible for installing and maintaining servers, operating systems, routers, switches, telecommunication equipment, and system software providing the stable operation of the IT computer network.
  • Coordinates the troubleshooting and repair of all supported network equipment on the property.
  • Assist the Network Manager or Sr. Network Administrator in maintaining the stability of the network.
  • Enforces security standards, systems integrity, and confidentiality within the department.
  • Conduct ongoing network system audits to evaluate the utility and efficiency of the system’s hardware, software, and communications equipment and its effectiveness in meeting management information needs.
  • Established methods and procedures for use of the network systems, including hardware, software, and communication devices.
  • Adhere to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Internal Controls.
  • Work side by side with the corporate team for a new project that will require additional network implementation and configuration.
  • Establish and maintain backup defense systems by continue applying network system fixes and enhancements.
  • Coordinate and ensures that the standard implementation policies, procedures, and systems operations are followed under the corporate standard.
  • Continue to maintain and update the documentation for network software and operational procedures.
  • Work closely with the corporate network team to resolve any networking problem.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean workspace and areas.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or equivalent training and experience is required.
  • Project management skills are a definite asset.
  • Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Must hold a TRIBAL GAMING LICENSE or can obtain one.
  • Knowledge, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local policies, laws, and regulations about technology standard requirements.
  • Work schedule flexibility to be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts, with the understanding days off will fluctuate.

Additional Requirements (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, Etc.)

  • Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware, including Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Office, Windows Desktop Operating Systems, MS Outlook & PC hardware configuration skills.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the IT industry with an emphasis on systems design, integration, and telecommunications, including data/voice transmission utilizing fiber optic, radiofrequency and cellular communications.
  • A wide range of hardware and software knowledge in Gaming systems and Hospitality systems is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in server/network architecture and operations with a strong understanding of Network and System Security.

Work Environment

  • The Casino environment is hectic/fast-paced, often crowded and noisy. Exposure to casino-related environmental factors including, secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and constant exposure to the general public.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with guests with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
