Berkeley Research Group (“BRG”) and its energy practice (“BRG Energy”) provide independent advice, valuation analysis, restructuring advice, fairness opinions and expert testimony advisory services to Fortune 500 corporations, financial institutions, government agencies, major law firms, and regulatory bodies around the world. The candidate for this position must have significant upstream E&P oil/gas valuation analysis experience (ideally with an investment banking energy group), including DCF analysis, NAV’s, Public Comparable, M&A Precedent Transaction Analysis, Pro Forma Merger Models, accretion/dilution analysis and proven experience in the energy market. Candidate ideally has significant experience writing expert reports.

BRG Energy & Climate practice is seeking an Investment Banker in the energy markets. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with solid analytical, report writing, presentation, research, and organizational skills, accompanied by a desire to advance within the organization.

The work is fast paced, demanding and intellectually stimulating. We look for the following in candidates:

• MBA program with a focus in finance;
• Minimum of four (4+) years of investment banking or valuation experience within the energy markets, primarily focused on the upstream sector;
• Must have experience in writing expert reports. Writing samples will be required;
• Superior analytical skills with very strong attention to details;
• Strong financial modeling experience;
• Strong writing skills/experience;
• Ability to evaluate and form independent business judgments;
• Ability to effectively communicate and present to clients and partners
• Collaboration and consulting skills are essential as work will often overlap with industry partners, product partners and investment banking groups. Candidates must be prepared to assume a high level of responsibility;
• FINRA Licenses and aligned professional associations helpful;
• The ability to convey complexity with ease; and
• Ongoing ability to learn on the fly and adapt quickly as the markets evolve.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $230,000 per year
