Job Description

As an Information Security Analyst for GEI you will serve as the technical and subject matter expert in protecting all areas of corporate infrastructure including (but not limited to) network, server, endpoint and data. You must be able to establish, maintain and increase user satisfaction through professional, courteous and thoughtful end user support.

The successful candidate will be well versed in the world of information security and the challenges that network security brings, including an in-depth understanding of a variety of cyber security threats and any other vulnerabilities that may affect GEI.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide security administration for all aspects of network operations including firewalls, VPN, routing, switching, network segmentation, wireless, backups, IPSec and content filtering.
  • Monitoring security administration to ensure best practices
  • Security vulnerability, Intrusion Prevention and remediation
  • Maintain Industry Standard Security Compliance (NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC2, etc.)
  • Implement security improvements
  • Keep up to date with the latest threats and attack methods
  • Verify security of third-party applications
  • Maintaining and creating documentation
  • Liaising with complementary departments to ensure adherence to security protocols
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Analyzing devices and implementing the best security protocols for everything from cell phones to tablets to laptops to field data collection endpoints
  • Ensuring security updates are current across all systems
  • Network and server monitoring
  • On premise, SAN and cloud server virtualization monitoring
  • Computer lifecycle management, hardware acquisition and inventory management
  • Database security management
  • Conduct daily infrastructure security assessments
  • Coordinate with I.T. Infrastructure Team to develop and maintain company security policies
  • Evaluate new technologies for possible implementation
  • Manage Group Policy and Active Directory
  • Respond to end user helpdesk security support requests from local and remote users
  • Train and educate end users on proper security techniques, trends and procedures
  • Monitor workstation deployment and troubleshooting practices
  • Maintain hardware and software license compliance
  • Office 365 security administration

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree (or equivalent) required. Bachelor s Degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of IT experience as an Information Security Analyst in an SMB/Enterprise environment
  • 2+ years monitoring Cisco (or equivalent) Firewalls, routers, and switches
  • 4+ years of providing excellent systems and end user support
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours and travel when required
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to convey technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to non-technical personnel
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 environment
  • Monitor VMware environment
  • Understanding of Veeam Backup Software
  • Understanding of Fortinet Firewalls
  • ITIL Foundation certification a plus
  • Security+, Network+, CCNA R/S or CCNA Security certifications a plus
