The Infection Preventionist - RN serves as the nursing centers' prevention and control officer and functions as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator and facilitator.

- Oversee the nursing centers' Infection Control and Prevention Program to minimize the risk of infection.
- Manage the employee health program which includes the universal influenza program.
- Facilitate infection control training for all newly hired employees and conduct annual competency training for nurses administering tuberculosis testing.
- Develop education programs in response to infection control needs identified through Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement, rounding and nursing center quality measures.
